During this year of the Snake, people, in general, will be more thoughtful rather than action-oriented. This is a year for introspection & planning; ideal time to sign lucrative yet shrewd deals which will be inked after a few initial hiccups & distrust. Trade, commerce, manufacturing will flourish, so will scientists, technologists, artistes, fashion designers and the politicians. The ancient Chinese believed that the Snake likes to resolve conflicts one way or the other, if it falters with peaceful & political means, the Snake declares war. Historically, the Year of the Snake have never been tranquil, unlike the Year of the Sheep. Perhaps this is because it is the strongest negative force in the cycle and it follows the Dragon year, which is the strongest positive force in the 12 year cycle. So many catastrophes which had their emergence in the year of the Dragon exploded & culminated in the year of the Snake. The Dragon & the Snake are closely linked, so the disasters of the Snake years often resulted from immoderation committed during the Dragon's rule. So while romance is in the air, so is scandal. The Year of the Snake is always unpredictable, the snake’s unruffled demeanor hides the fact that once it uncoils to strike its prey, he moves at awesome speed and nothing can stop him. Likewise, changes that occur during the Snake's year can be as sudden and devastating. Gambling and speculation is to be avoided at all costs.
