A child born in the Year of the Ox

(Also: Read about the grown-up Ox )

Chinese symbol for the Ox

Ox

This child born in the Year ruled by the tough & hardship-enduring Ox will be strongly individualistic and will never be a whiner. This child is by nature a private person, but when someone messes with him, he prefers to settle disputes not by discussions but by face-to-face combat - just like the sturdy ox. In extreme cases he might turn out to be obstinate and unyielding. He won't feel angry about your disciplining him, in fact he will gladly take to your regulating a schedule for him. He likes consistency, so although he will like his meals served at the same time each day, he will never fret about the food. The Ox child likes to lead at the slightest opportunity, he will be a stern elder sibling when the parents are away. As a parent you should be aware that your child does not fall for flattery and respects the strong - so if you want to get things done, do not give him candy - give him an order. On the negative side, he is sometimes overly serious and hates fooling around, so he should be motivated to express his emotions and develop a sense of humor. When the Ox child will grow up, he will be an outstanding example of both an excellent leader of his subordinates and a loyal subordinate to his boss.
